Education
A 2018 graduate of Assumption College, Attorney Cerbo is a recipient of the Emmanuel D’Alzon Crown and Shield Award — the highest honor awarded by the College — recognizing his outstanding character and leadership in service to the Assumption community.
Attorney Cerbo then graduated from Western New England University School of Law in 2021 with a concentration in Criminal Law Practice. During law school, he completed internships at the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, the Office of the Rhode Island Attorney General, the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut, and Rhode Island Legal Services. He also worked as a certified student-prosecutor with the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office and served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Robert G. Fields of the Western Massachusetts Housing Court.
Career
After law school, Attorney Cerbo served as an Assistant District Attorney for four years with both the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office and the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office. As a criminal prosecutor, he handled nearly one thousand criminal cases across a wide array of misdemeanor and felony charges. He has tried nearly 40 cases to verdict and has litigated numerous evidentiary motions.
In 2024, he was awarded the Spotlight Award by the Massachusetts District Attorney’s Association for his outstanding service and professionalism. Attorney Cerbo is licensed to practice in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and the United States District Court in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
In his spare time, Attorney Cerbo remains active in his community. In 2025, he was elected to serve on the West Springfield School Committee. He also serves as a lector at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish and is a member of his local Knights of Columbus chapter.
